Maison de l’Ecriture

The Maison de l’Ecriture nestles in Montricher, at the foot of the Jura Vaudois, in the locality of Bois Désert. Facing the lake and the Alps, the site was selected for the beauty of the landscape and the calm that surrounds it, which is conducive to reflection and writing. It exudes a special charm, a unique atmosphere.

The architecture of the Maison de l’Ecriture was entrusted to the architects V. Mangeat and P. Wahlen . Its design, in perfect osmosis with nature, resembles that of a small city in which the different buildings are intended for the Foundation’s multiple activities. Individual accommodation to host writers in residence, a dining room, a lounge for relaxation, a vast library for documentation, an adaptable space intended for exhibitions and an auditorium for performances of all types, all promise multiple encounters and cultural exchanges.
