Residences for writers

The residences of the Maison de l’Ecriture are intended to help and inspire literary creation. Their design has been thought out to offer ideal conditions for writing, conducive to inspiration. They are perched so as to better encompass the panorama over the Alps, the lake and the surrounding countryside. These residences, called cabins, benefit from generous proportions in which work and rest spaces are harmoniously combined. In the immediate proximity, other meeting spaces invite the residents to leave their cabins : a dining room and a common room, a vast library, an auditorium and an exhibition space.

The Maison de l’Ecriture will be open to writers as from the spring of 2013 for periods of between one and 12 consecutive months. During their stay, they will be freed from any professional activity so that they can devote themselves fully to writing, leaving aside the constraints of time. In the event of need, a financial allowance is granted.

The selection of the residents is carried out by the Council of the Foundation and its committee on the basis of the applications submitted, in accordance with the criteria of the quality of the project, the involvement and motivation of the writer. In line with its philanthropic mission, the Foundation wishes to favour literary talents seeking support.
